A magnet is a substance which possess magnetic domains in it, a magnetic domain is a collection of magnetic dipoles. The intrinsic properties of an atom, like electronic and nuclear spin moment is the reason for the magnetic dipoles Electricity is simply a flow of electrons through a conducting medium
