It is a 3d shape made up of 6 rectangular sides. It has three dimensions (length, width and height). You can find volume by multiplying all three sides together.

Strictly speaking, right rectangular prism is a 3-dimensional object which has six faces that are rectangles. A third grader, however, might prefer to think about such prisms as shoe boxes. Right rectangular prisms are also known as cuboids. Volume of the right rectangular prism can be calculated by multiplying its length by its height by its width.
