The official currency of the Maldives is the rufiyaa. Symbols for the rufiyaa are either MVR or Rf. A rufiyaa is made up of 100 laari.

The currency used in the maldives is called the 'rufiyaa. ' Also, 100 'laari' make up one rufiyaa. In early 2009 it took about 9 rufiyaa to make a US dollar.
