If you where to replace it yourself you could have the job done within a few hours and only spend about $30 for a new thermostat and gasket. A shop could charge over $100 for parts and labor for a job like this.

Usually, it runs between $20-$35. It is obviously cheaper if you are able to do it yourself. Even f you can't, the cost won't break the bank.

This repair should not cost too much. You'll be looking at proably around $200 for the job. Depending on what wrong with the thermostat you can probably wait to replace it. If it opening too soon then its no rush, if it's not opening soon enough then get it done.

Replacing a Prelude's thermostat can be relatively inexpensive, if you have some minor car knowledge, a jack, and some jack stands. The part is inexpensive to purchase (10-30 dollars); the real price, as with any car repair, is in paying a mechanic labor to install it for you.
