The average life expectancy of a gas dryer is 13 years. For an electric dryer it's 14 years. Both electric and gas should last, minimally, 11 years. A gas dryer could go for as long as 16 years, and an electric one could go for as long as 18 years.

Both machines require a sparking or ignition mechanism which is electrical and a motor to move the drum unit. These parts give out at the same rate in both dryers.

the life expentancey of an electric one is way better because it doesnt have the everyday wear and tear of the gasoline one and it is way safer to use in the daily use.
