Lovely is really a neurological concept, but feelings of loving a person based on personal preferences can cause endorphines to flow throughtout the body, which create a feeling of well-being and general happiness.

When you feel a strong attraction to someone, chemicals are released by your brain. These include dopamine (which makes you feel good, similar to the pleasure of eating chocolate), norepinephrine (which makes your heart race and skin sweaty), and phenylethyleamine (which stimulates the release of dopamine and norepinephrine).
