Puppies get worms from ingesting worm larva. This can happen if they lick a litter mate's rear end, if their mother has worms, if they eat or sleep in their own feces, or if they get feces from their paws into their water dish. Thankfully, your vet can give you medicine that works quickly to kill the parasites.

They always have worms they get them from their food among other things and if the puppy is reall young you need to take it to the vet and have the vet worm it for you that way your baby doesn't get any sicker.
