Kissing the Blarney Stone is said to give a person "the gift of gab" and the ability to flatter others. The tradition began in late 18th or early 19th Century.

My grandfather was Irish. The Blarney Stone is said to give those that kiss it the ability to talk more and not be without words. I am not sure this is entirely true, but it is a one of Ireland's tradition and many go to Ireland to kiss this stone.

It is said to give you the gift of eloquence. You have to have someone hold your legs while you reach back and kiss it. The castle is near the city of Cork in Ireland.
