Make sure the aquarium stand is leveled. Place the aquarium on the stand. Check that the tank is leveled. Add rinsed substrate (gravel) into tank. Place any decorations and plants into the aquarium. Fill the tank with water then add in a dechlorinator product. Install any pumps or filters. Add liquid beneficial bacteria product. Wait 24 hours before adding fish.

The thing to remember about this tank is that it is deep. If you plan to have inhabitants that need light, then you want them to be close to the top. This means that you most likely don't want a reef tank. Tall plants lost of smaller fish work very well and you can stack rocks nice and high.

A good filter, air pump and a high wattage light will be needed. Choose a substrate then plants or rocks. Then you can start adding fish.

Clean the tank without using detergents. Install the undergravel filter then put in no more than 2 inches of clean gravel. Fill with water and turn on filter.
