Make sure the pendelum is secured so it does not knock about in the cabinet. Make sure the cabinet is locked. You will probably need two people to help you; one to help lift and another to give direction because sometimes you will not be able to see around the clock. Bend at the knees to lift.

Moving a grandfather clock is challenging and I would first suggest hiring a moving company with experience in this field to prevent damage to your clock. Moving it yourself, I reccommend winding the clock and removing the weights after marking them before you move.

You should be able to lift it slightly and slide a low (small wheel) dolly underneath, depending on the size of the clock, and use the hand truck to move the clock to the desired spot. There are various sizes of dollys available through moving companies such as UHaul, Ryder, etc.

You should go to Meijer's,Target or Walmart and by Super Sliders. Depending on the size of the clock you'll need anywhere from 2-4 Super Sliders. Put the Sliders under the clock and you'll be able to move the clock without any help from anyone else.

First you need to remove the weights. Next carefully remove the pendulum. Make sure that during the move the clock case stays steady and doesn't shift around. If in doubt about packing hire a professional to do this for you.

The best way to move it is by hand. But you need atleast two to three people so that you won't drop it or mess with it. You need to move it slowly.

The best way to move a grandfather clock would be to have at least three other people helping you with lifting it. In conjunction with everyone you would have to put in on a dolly, slowly moving it to correct place.

To move a grandfather clock be sure to remove the pendulum and the weights. It would be a good idea to tape the hands on the face of the clock.
