Air handlers from the manufacturer are insulated when built. Adding insulation to the existing air handler will not save you any substantial energy savings. If the unit is sweating, and you just want to stop the condensation, use reflective bubble insulation from Lowe's, cut to size, and tape around your unit.

Best way to insulate an air holder is to first grab an replacement filter. Second I'd recommend looking at the type of air system you have because there all kinds. Open the furnace replace the insulator and put in a new one try it out if it don't work call for air condition hvac guy.

If you are trying to insulate this type of air handler then you will need to air it up to the max first.
