The best way is to remove the strings, but you can also use Swiffer clothes (wet or dry). Unless your strings are wound way too tight, you can fit the cloth between them and the fretboard, and pull it from one end to the other.

You do not need to remove the strings to clean the fingerboard. Detuning the guitar will allow access to the fretboard for a soft rag and furniture cleaner.

You can just slacken the strings and push them aside. Use Pledge and a cloth, put the polish on the cloth. Once every 6 months should be enough.
