It depends on the severity of the ulcer. Minor ones will often heal on their own with just rest and relaxation. Consult your doctor if you have any questions.

In the first instance make sure that your diet is ulcer-friendly. Avoid taking aggravating drugs such as aspirin. And try to keep your stress levels to a minimum.

Stomach ulcers caused by the organism H.pylori are treated with a multi-drug regimen. The drugs used include antibiotics as well as medicines that inhibit the production of acid in the stomach called proton pump inhibitors. In the absence of this organism, antibiotics are unnecessary and you can just take the acid inhibitors.

Studies have found that at least 50 percent of stomach ulcers are caused by the Heliobacter Pylori bacterium. You should see your doctor to see if this is the cause, which is treated with anti-biotics and bismuth supplements. Other treatments include Proton pump inhibitors, antacids, and in worse-case senarios, surgery.

stomach ulcers, if mild, could be treated with simple medicines such as H2 inhibitors that limit the production of gastric acid production in the stomach. for the best treatment, however, billroth surgeries are always considered the best. the doctors will permanently take out the part of your stomach containing parietal cells which are responsible for gastric acid production.
