The best thing to do right away is run the area that is burned under cool water for at least 10 minutes. Do not put ice on the burn. Ice can make the burn worse.

Aloe vera and honey are the better known alternative remedies for burns. Aloe vera's moisturising, anti-inflammatory and mildly antiseptic effects are well recognised. Another good first aid for burns is Lavender essential oil. Lavender is very effective antiseptic, painkilling, and promotes rapid healing.

Oil burns can be very deep and painful. The best cure is to first rinse with cold water to help alleviate the burning sensation. Next I would suggest burn gel or ointment. Also aloe vera does amazing things for a burn of any type.

Cool not cold water can be used on an oil burn. Do not hold ice down on it. You can also clean the area with mild soap. Use anti bacterial ointment and cover to prevent infection.
