Anytime you experience complications after a C-section, you need to tell your doctor right away, especially if you also have fever, redness or a sensation of heat around the incision site. He will probably put you on antibiotics and monitor you closely. If you are not breast feeding, you may also want to drink pau d'arco tea, which is antibacterial.

If the wound has developed an abscess, this needs medical attention. The whole incision must be re-opened and washed with saline solution. The abscess must be irrigated and drained, and the patient put on antibiotics.

Antibiotics and irrigation of the infected area are the treatment. The doctor will drain the pus and wash the area with saline or an antiseptic solution and pack with gauze.
