What is the best thing to remove hard water build up from my hair?

You must rinse hair thoroughly using a shower head. Do not use bath water as you are putting dirty water back into your hair. Use a separate conditioner occasionally, not a 2 in 1 conditioner all the time, as the build up in your hair increases making it lank and dull.

Hair that has hard water buildup can be extremely hard to style. If you are suffering from this problem, symptoms may include a greasy, waxy or heavy feel to your hair. The best thing to do is use a clarifying shampoo. Always wash your hair in cold water as this will aid in preventing future mineral deposits.

You can buy shampoos specifically designed to remove hard water from your hair, but there are natural methods that some consider equally effective. Adding one teaspoon of baking soda to your shampoo once a week may be a solution. You can also create a mixture of vinegar and water and drench your hair in this solution.
