You could get an Interlinear Bible or there is a book called "Where to find it in the Bible". Or you could go to your local church and ask-a pastor.

The strongest theological source for word origins is the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (There is a similar series for the Old. ) This is a multi-volume work.

Use Strong's concordance. You look up the word in question and it tells you the definition of the Hebrew/Greek/Aramaic. Remember words in other languages have a different set of connotations.

Learn Greek and Hebrew and Aramaic. When you understand the roots of those languages, you will also understand the roots of most controversial words and questions in the Bible. Otherwise, use a good concordance, like Strong's.
