What is the average height of a 3 year old?

I want to make sure my son is growing properly.

The average height at three years of age is about 93 cm - a little more than 3 feet. Remember that most children will double their birth height at 4 years of age.

According to pediatric growth chargs, the 50th percentile for boys' height is approximately 37 3/4 inches. This means that generally speaking, half the boys at age 3 will be below that height and half will be above. The normal height range is anywhere between 35 and 41 inches.

For a boy, 37-38 in. would be average, but it is normal to be above or below. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, about 90% of the boys at age 3 are between 35. 5 and 40. 5 in. If you are worried, it would be best to ask a paediatrician.
