car repairs

Question by  Marsha (2337)

What is the average front axle repair cost?

I need to know what to expect to get my front axle repaired.

I believe it will cost you about 100 to 200 dollars for this part. Inquire around local garages and see what they charge.

It depends on the car, and the fault with the axle. For example, in my 1987 Toyota Corolla I replaced a halfshaft for about $40, however I would expect by your question that you'll be looking at several hundred dollars.

It should cost about 100 to 200 dollars for the parts that need to be replaced but you also have to take into account labor costs unless you want to do it yourself.

Are you talking about the CV joint, the part that connects the tire to the driveshaft? There is one on each side, so you would need a new part plus labor times 2. You can call a local parts store and get an estimate on the part alone, the labor should be about 2 hours per side.
