Ball pythons grow 3-5 feet with females at the larger end of the size range. They have vestigial legs called anal spurs near the anal vent at the end of the belly scales. The heart is near the head end of the python between the two lungs. It has two atria and a ventricle and can expand after feeding.

As with any snake the heart is in the upper part of the body. Imagine the snake divided into equal thirds, the heart would be in the second segment.
