I have had only one instance where I ordered an item on-line and tried to return it to the store, but it had to be mailed back - frustrating!

With clothing, as long as it still has the tags on and you have a Target receipt, you will be able to return it. With CDs, DVDs, toys, and games, as long as they are still sealed in the packaging and you have a receipt, you'll be able to return it. Food items and swim suits are not returnable.

It depends on what you want to return. Most merchandise can be returned within 90 days with a receipt or a gift receipt. Target can also look up a record of purchase through the credit card or checking account that was used.

They have a 90 day return policy with the receipt. If the receipt is lost, Target offers two no receipt returns a year by scanning your drivers license. If there is no receipt and the item went on sale, you will get the lowest price it was sold for.

Target's no receipt policy is very stern. No receipt no return. It is posted on the wall behind all the cash registers.
