A starfish is an amazing creature among aquatic life. It has the ability to regain its foot when lost during injury caused by any organism. Its feet are called tube feet. It is bilaterally symmetrical. Nowadays, they are grown in aquariums in many countries and sold for ornamental purposes.They are also used as biological specimens.

Starfish also known as sea stars belongs to the class Asteroidea. There are about 2000 living species of starfish. They live in whole the world and normally below 6000 meters.

If a starfish loses one of it's arms it can regenerate it. The arm may not be the same size at the original but it is fully functional. Starfish are generally bottom creatures, although they can be found on the sides of rock and corals. They are fairly easy to keep in an aquarium.
