Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infection of the lungs caused by inhaling mycobacteria, typically from an infected person. Symptoms can include fevers, night sweats, and weight loss, although it can be detected by blood testing before symptoms are active. Treatment with antibiotics is critical because this infection can spread to other organ systems, and can be fatal if left untreated.
