It is almost like saw dust compressed and formed. A lot of furniture used today is pressed wood with a veneer covering. Most cabinets use pressed wood underneath the sink, which made no sense. Pressed wood and water do not get along, water will make the wood swell and become moldy.

Pressed wood is a material which combines smaller wood particles together using some sort of adhesive to make a larger piece of material such as a board.
