Breastfed baby's have distinctive bowel movements. They are usually yellowish brown in color with the texture of peanut butter. The smell is not terrible offensive. If your baby's has unusual or inconsistent bowel movements consult your pediatrition. It may be due to an infection or other issue that your healthcare professional can address.

A breast-fed baby can have bowel movements of many different colors. The most common is a yellowish, even mustard color. Their bowel movements may also tend toward the greenish or brownish. What you don't want to see are any blood in the stool or blackish colors. In those cases you want to see your doctor.

A normal bowel movement color for a breastfeed infant is mustard colored, seedy and runny looking. Which is very normal. If you are formula feeding they will be tan colored and soft. Since you breastfeed expect a lot of poop. This happens at the beginning. Your baby may go after every feeding. Do not be alarmed by this, it is normal.
