The default rounter number which is widely used is 192.168.1.1. This can be confirmed by going into Command prompt in DOS and typing "ipconfig". ipconfig lists all the necessary details regarding all the IPs on your computer. In the given list look for the Default Gateway information. Copy and paste the router number into your browser to verify.

It really all depends on the router's manufacturer for what IP address it is set to. Most if not all IP's for consumer routers start with 192. 168. x. x. The x's represent variables. If you have a linksys the router will give out address on the 192. 168. 1. 1 gateway. If you have a dlink it will give out 192. 168.0. 1.
