Significant memory impairment, significant behavioral changes, or paralysis may happen during stage IV. Vision and hearing may be lost. Pain is usually very severe and a patient is often incoherent due to the continuing growth of the tumor. Doctors may keep the patient in a medically induced coma or constantly sedated until the patient succumbs to the tumor.

This depends on where the tumor is located. Terminal patients will often lose fine motor skills (ability to walk and talk). Eventually they will lose appetite and the ability to control their bowels. The last sense to go is hearing. The only good thing is that brain tumors are usually fast acting so the suffering isn't prolonged.

This depends on what portion of the brain the tumor is affecting. Most likely, however, the person will be very tired and "out of it" most of the time.

The last stages of of brain cancer are very tough on the patient as well as their family and friends. You can expect all the symptoms that were experienced in the early stages of the disease but on an increased level. Personality changes are common as well as bizarre behavior. Pain is common. Remember your friend as they were before.
