What is involved in resizing virtual memory with windows XP?

Virtual memory of Windows XP is set up automatic when you install your windows. If you feel you need more virtual memory under control panel -> system -> advanced -> performance -> settings -> advanced you can change the virtual memory settings. Here you can change on what drive the paging file is located, initial size and maximum size.

In windows xp go to my computer,right click,choose properties,go to the advanced tab, click performance options, then click settings,again click advanced tab, then click change.Now you can set the parameters you need.Under drive (volume label)click the drive that contains the paging file.

Right click on My Computer, scroll down to Properties. Once the window pops up go to the Advanced tab, you will a box that says performance you will click on the Settings. Once the new screen pops up you will select the Advanced tab. Click on the button in the bottom that says Change. This is the screen to change.

First of all you need buy new virtual memory. Then just add it in your computer. If you have laptop, it is gonna be harder.

Right click my computer, click properties. In properties click on the advanced tab, then click the settings button in performance. Go the the advanced tab in performance and then click the change button in the virtual memory box at the bottom. 1024mb = 1GB. Best of luck.

This is pretty simple to do. Just right click on my computer, click properties, go to advanced, and click settings under performance. Then just set it to the value.

Virtual memory just takes a portion of the hard drive memory, with that portion being adjustable in the control panel: System > Advanced > Performance and then find Virtual Memory.
