Immediately following surgery, keep the shoulder immobilized and iced several times a day to prevent injury and reduce inflammation. Sleep on your back with a rolled towel underneath your arm to reduce strain. Then attend rehabilitation 2-3 times a week for several months until you are released from doctor's care.

It depends on the procedure and why it was done. Talk to your doctor about post-op plans and visit with a PT per your doctor.

In the beginning it will be just getting you to do regular movements in all of the ranges of motion, then stretching is required to keep length of the muscles and to straighten fibres in the tissues, then you will need to do strengthen exercises to rebuild the atrophied muscles.

Post shoulder rehab consist of the therapist applying electrodes to your shoulder so that you will not feel the pain involved in lifting your shoulder. In addition you will be required to lift weights, use a hand pedal and stretch out the shoulder.

Well if you are going to get post shoulder surgery done after rehab it is going to involve you going under the knife. You are going to have to take about 4 weeks to recover.

Mostly a lot of physical therapy, after an initial period of recovery your doctor will prescribe a course therapy. This will mostly include a lot of weight lifting and stretching so your shoulder gets back up to par.
