What is involved in mustang training?

I need to train a mustang.

Training wild mustangs can be harder than training any other horse since most Mustangs have had no human interaction. It takes A LOT of time and patience from the trainer. It's mostly baby steps, start out small like haltering or saddling. When the horse does what you want reward it and then be done for the day.

Be patient, calm, quiet, and consistent. Have a clear idea of your goal for the day, and don't expect to have them under saddle in 30 days. Study other mustang gentlers, and be always aware that these are prey animals. Stay safe- and horse must be calmer at end.
