What is involved in a fuel pressure test on a Ford Explorer?

My mechanic says I need one.

You need a pressure gauge. Hook it up to the fuel line and turn the ignition to the on position. It will read what the pressure is.

At the end of the fuel rail you will see a threaded connection. Take a fuel pressure tool and attach to the fuel rail. You will then have to turn the ignition to the on position and have someone read the results. Compare them with the specsifications.

Not alot of work required to check this problem. It only takes the mechanic or shop to put the car on a machine and it will tell all the information on whats going on. All you have to do is ask your mechanic how much they will charge to do it on there machine.

Not very much they just put a little machine on it and it tells them everything they need to know.
