Firebush weed is a plant found in the northern US. It is green and in summer has petal-less flowers that are green and encircled by long, hair-like projections.

The Firebush is a perennial small tree from subtropical and tropical America. It's also called Hummingbird bush (because the hummingbird is attracted by it's flowers) and Hamelia Patens.

Firebush, scientific name: Hamelia patens is a perennial plant of Rubiaceae Family has multiple scarlet tubular flowers 1. 5" long, fork out from the tips of the branches, blooming in the midnight and wilting the next day. Halicted bee, Pluto Sphinx moth, Black Swallowtail butterflies and Hummingbirds love these flowers

Firebush weed, also known as Kochia, is an aggressive weed. Although native to Russia, Asia and Europe, the plant has now spread through the United States. It turns a fiery red color in the fall.
