Gallo Nero is the best chianti brand around. They're top quality. It's definitely a sophisticated brand. I drink my chianti with dinner often and you have to have a strong chianti to compliment the food. The taste is definitely robust and perfect. After tasting Gallo Nero other brands seem weak and bland.

Chianti is in the same boat as Champagne, which is to be called a Chianti it has to be produced in the Chianti region of Tuscany, Italy. Also any decently produced Chianti will have a pink paper DOCG seal and will be endorsed with a Consortium's logo on the neck. The truely best Chianti is Chianti Superiore.

If you like the taste of cherries and A high acidic taste, any older Chianti will complement any meal.Da Vinci DOCG Chianti is very good for the money.Tiziano Chianti is one of if not my favorite Chianti wine, due to its grape flavor, and its violet scent. And also for the price ($10 to $20) its hard to beat.

Oenophiles agree that the best Chianti comes from the Sangovese region of Tuscany. Known as the best inexpensive red wine, and noted for its robust flavor and ability to perfectly complement (what else?) Italian food. Try a glass of classic chianti from Gallo Nero, approved and endorsed by the Chianti Consortium.

There is a Chianti Classico Consortium that certifies chianti with a seal at the base of the foil. Good chianti will have the pink DOCG seal and the consortium's logo in a prominent place on the label. Try Barbi, Antinori and Frescobaldi.

Riserva Chianti is better. The vines are lower to the ground, and the wine is aged uniquely, which leads to better quality. Also it is reasonably priced.

To be called Chianti it must be produced in the Chianti region of Tuscany Italy. The best is said to be the Chianti Gallo Nero. The taste is robust and pairs well with hearty foods. It is endorsed by the Chianti Consortium. Other brands seem weak compared to Gallo Nero.
