Personally, I feel that the appropriate clothing is a per wedding decision. Some weddings are formal and require a tuxedo. Some wedding are casual and can require a bathing suit on the beach in bare feet. Depending on the type of wedding you are having, your attire will be dictated to match.

It depends on the wedding. Typically they are a formal affair and men just dress accordingly. They should wear a nice suite, slack, and tie. For less formal weddings dress pants and dress shirt. Winter and evening weddings are traditionally more formal.

The appropriate wedding attire for men depends on the formality of the wedding. For a black-tie wedding, a tux should be worn. For most other weddings, a standard suit is acceptable. In recent years, it has even become more common for men to wear khaki pants, and a shirt and tie to weddings.

This will depend on the type of wedding. For some, you'll need to dress in a tuxedo, others a suit, and others in whatever you have on. The invitation will often tell you what is expected. If you're uncertain, opt for a suit -- you can always take off the jacket and tie if you find you're overdressed.

Traditional wedding clothing for men would include a basic black tuxedo for a more formal affair. For something more casual, like a beach wedding one might go with an off white linen suit and believe it or not no shoes.

If he is the groom or the father of the bride his attire should complement the style of the bride's wedding dress. If he is a guest he should dress like he is going to church if the wedding is being held in a church.
