The infection you speak of is also commonly known as ringworm, or ringworm lesions. Contrary to its name, ringworm is not a worm, but a fungus that infects the skin of various animals, such as sheep, cattle, and of course, humans. Ringworm is not serious, but should be treated with an anti fungal cream as soon as possible.
