This is one example of the word "tenacious" being used in a sentence: "The tenacious young lawyer would not give up on the case even when the more experienced partners said it would be very difficult to win. " "Tenacious" means that a person does not let go of a goal or idea and will fight for it.

The puppy had a tenacious hold on the pull toy. The little kid was tenacious in his quest for answers to his questions; he would not stop asking them. Tenacious means to hang onto something physically or an idea very tightly, perhaps beyond the point common sense would stop.
