You can think of an array as a group of numbers that give the location of a point in n-dimensional space. For instance, '[1,2,-1]' is a vector in 3-dimensional space..

An array in math is just a list of items. A couple of examples are {1, 4, 2, 5} which is a finite list or {1, 3, 5, 7, 9, ...} which is an infinite list. They are also sometimes called vectors.
