American mah jong is pretty similar to the original. There are fewer tiles, and the rules are simpler. You can find tournaments on the Internet.

The American Mah-Jong is different than the ancient Chinese version. It's more standardized. Yes, the American Mah-Jong Association does offer tournaments as does the National Mah-Jong League.

Mahjong is a game that originated in China. This game consists of skill,strategy. The basic premise of the game is that each player is dealt thirteen or sixteen tiles.
