A "walk off" is a term in baseball where the home team makes a play in the bottom of the ninth inning, or in extra innings, which results in the game ending. Examples of walk offs include a player hitting a home run, or even a single, double, or triple which drives in the run to end the game.

A walk off is the game-winning hit. The other team has had their chance to score that inning, and this hit would put the player's team ahead.
