Some individuals, usually single mothers, are able to get government funding to put their child (or kids) in daycare while they go to work or school. The funding ultimately is from the federal government, but is disbursed by a variety of locally based organizations. The daycare facility or the care provider *babysitter) is paid directly by the funding agency.

Subsidized daycare is childcare provided to a worker or someone searching for employment in which a portion of the normal cost is paid for by the government.
