A shtreimel is a hat worn in the Jewish culture, more specifically by Hasidic Jews. It is made of fur and not intended for everyday wear. Usually it is worn at special occassions or holidays.

A shtreimel is is a large piece of velvet that is covered by fur. This is used as a hat in European nations.
