What is a safe way for a very fair skined person to get a tan?

I am very fair and always burn, which is not good. How can I get color and be safe?

You can always try spray tanning or bronzer lotion. It is a good way for anyone to look tanned without the harmful effects of UV. A major drawback is the possibility of streaks and/or an uneven tan. Make sure you moisturize before applying bronzer to minimize these risks, especially on elbows and other dry areas.

You could use a self-tanning product that contains a moderate sunscreen and just allow yourself casual sun exposure of no more than 15-20 cumulative minutes daily. This will gradually give you some a healthy glow. Don't try for a deep tan look. If you were intended to have that, you would not be fair-skinned! :D Embrace your natural good looks.
