What is a recipe to make fig preserves?

I would like to preserve some of my figs for use in the winter months.

4 Cups whole figs, 2 Cups sugar, 2 Lemon slices, 1 Cup water, a pinch of salt. Wash figs, rinse and drain. remove stems. Everything in pot, cook low for about 3 hours. Stirring occasionally. Cook til thick. Ladle into hot jars. Process for about 10-15 minutes.

After figs are picked wash them throughly. Boil with the skins on til soft. Peel off the skin. Put in food processor and puree. Add lemon, sugar, pectin according to directions. You can add lemon if you like the taste to be tart or strawberries if you like it to be sweet. Also there are many recipes on the internet.
