I do not want the standard little boys hair cut for my son, I want something different.

Try Navy cut and Mushroom cut. The Navy cut is ideal for summer and Mushroom cut will look good on your soon if he has straight hair.

You could always give him a faux hawk. It's a haircut where it's longer on top and much shorter on the sides. It's like a Mohawk but much shorter. If he doesn't like it you can just buz it all off.
