A mythical bird is a fictitious animal that has unique characteristics not found in real birds. Such as powers, or odd size. The name may coincide with it's character. An example would be the Shifter, known as a bird that changes into other animals or humans and can hold intelligent conversation.

A mythical bird is one which does not exist in reality. The most common one is the Phoenix which dies in fire and returns to life from the ashes.
