Leaf rollers, treehoppers, scales, leafhoppers, aphids, and spider mites all are common pests of the redbud. Japanese beetles are another pest that can cause damage to the leaves of the redbud. Damage caused by these pests is generally not severe. Mechanical removal of these pests and affected braches is recommended, as well as usage of tree pesticides.
