The reason a rodent gets overgrown teeth is because they do not have anything to gnaw on to wear the teeth down. Get it some wooden chew toys and wood sticks from the pet store. Overgrown teeth can obstruct your pet from eating and it will starve. Always keep wooden rodent toys in the cage with it.

Increase the amount of timothy/orchard grass hay in his diet (it should be constant and unlimited). If this doesn't work, a qualified exotics vet may have to trim them.

If a pet rodent has overgrown teeth, it's allways best to take him to a vet, who can clip the teeth. To prevent the teeth from overgrowing, you must offer him hard things (wood) to knaw on, as a rodent's teeth keep growing throughout his live.
