Corn snakes are a good choice for new pet owners bacause of their small size and hardiness. They also make good first time snakes because any slight mistakes are unlikely to cause serious harm to the snake.

Corn snakes are wonderful beginner snakes. They eat on a regular, weekly schedule, and require little tending or cleaning; plus they can be kept in a small tank.

Before you even purchase a snake for a beginner please find out information on snakes as all snakes are not the same. There are three types of snakes that would be good for a beginner and they are corn snakes, king and milk snakes and ball pythons. These are the ones that would be good to start off with.

Corn snakes would make a good pet for beginners. There easy to care for and they don't grow more than 3-5 feet long. Ther life span is 15-20 years and they eat mice, so prepare yourself. Keep them in a escape proof enclosure.
