A classic name would be Pocahontas. I think though there may be some teasing with that name. Hazel is a name often associated with American Indian's and is a pretty name for a girl. Look for a name that has a special meaning. An example: Bonita is an Apache name and means beautiful.

An American Indian name is a wonderful name to give a child. Amari is an excellent native indian name for a girl. This name signifies that the child is a blessing to her parent/s and that she was a gift: created by God. Nowadays a child name should mean something positive.

To find an American Indian name is complicated, well at least for boys. Jay, Sunny, Bobby, Milan and Neil can are common in both cultures. Taking up the shortenings of names sometimes also works like Vicky (Vikram/Victor) or Sam (Samarth/Sameer/Samuel). There are plenty of options for girls like Alisha, Alina, Anita, Jasmine, Karina, Lena, Laila, Maya, Nina, Sonia, ...

A good American Indian baby name could basically be any name. If you would like to keep the Indian background go with authentic Indian name but if you give him a American the kids looks will make everyone know that he is still Indian. It will be very clear what his ethnicity is.
