The element is the part of the dryer that actually heats the air that is used for drying. Without it, the dryer will not work properly. It varies from dryer to dryer how this works and how hard it is to replace. If you have a gas dryer, however, you should definitely leave it to a professional.

Dryer elements are bare wires coiled like springs, when they fail the wire will break opening the circuit. Once its turned on the electricity passes through the element and it became heat.

The dryer element is the heating coil that warms up the air that the drier uses to dry your clothing.

All dryers have a heating element in them, you need to call your local appliance technician in order to get that fixed.
